Motorcycle Magneto Reconditioning Services
Full reconditioning consists of armature rewind, replacement condenser (with highest quality modern component), bearings, seal, cam grind, and brushes. The original Lucas contact breakers are fully rebuilt to ensure the best quality available. When each unit is complete it is re magnetised to give it optimum performance.
Each unit comes complete with cap and leads (please state length of lead required where appropriate) and gaskets ready to fit straight on to the machine. The finish is as original and very carefully detailed. Each unit is extensively tested on our own Crypton Mag Master during which time it is strobed to check the accuracy of the cam angles. The units are run at speeds of up to 4000rpm (8000rpm at the crank) to ensure a rigorous and full test.

Applications
Lucas K1F – K2F – KVF
Our reconditioning irons out some of the original problems encountered by owners with the Lucas flange mounted magneto. When setting up a K2F or KVF we set the cam angles on auto magnetos with a +/- within 1-degree. This is far more accurate than the original allowing the bike to run smoothly from tick-over to full throttle. Please supply the auto advance unit you intend to use on the machine so that we can check its performance and condition. New caps and leads will be supplied with the reconditioned unit.
Lucas MO1 – MN2,MNV
The Lucas MO1 (Often called the Magdyno) formed the backbone of most British singles from 1937 to 1963. When finished each unit is re-magnetised and run extensively. A dynamo is run as a piggyback to ensure that the clutch assembly is set up properly. Please supply drive gear and nut when sending the magneto. A new HT cap and lead will supplied with each reconditioned unit. Note: MN2 and MNV units have special attention to the cam angles.
Lucas Wader Racing and competition (K2FC-KNR1 – NR1 – NC1 – K2FC – K2FR – K2FTT)
During a competition magneto rebuild we pay special attention to the accuracy of all moving and machined parts, the units are extensively and rigorously tested at all speeds. If the magneto is to be used for competition we can ensure all components are either wire locked or Loctited. Genuine competition HT lead and new HT caps will be supplied with each reconditioned unit Note: If you intend to use the magneto for an off road sport please let us know that we can add corrosion protection to the inside of the magneto.
N1-4-KNV
This base mounted magneto is most commonly found on AJS and Matchless motorcycles. Reconditioning of these units takes place to a very high standard. Where necessary ¼ width helicoils may need to be fitted to the base mounting screw to ensure correct tightening. Finally the flux point is adjusted, the unit is magnetised and extensively tested. Reconditioned units come complete with new HT cap and lead.
BTH – Twin and single and competition (TT – Dirt Track)
Both magnetos are often regarded as the best available. All electrical and mechanical parts are serviced, and the same detail as on all units is carried out.
